Rkneal New MSSP For AlienVault

Rkneal to integrate AlienVault Unified Security Management (USM) platform into the Verve Security Center to help customers achieve NERC CIP compliance

Rkneal, Inc., a leader in industrial automation and cyber security for the energy and power industries, has announced it is now a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for the AlienVault Unified Security Management (USM) platform. Rkneal plans on integrating USM into their flagship product, the Verve Security Center, to help their customers in the power industry achieve NERC CIP compliance.

“More than ever before, our customers in the utilities industry are having to do more with less, so they need products that are easy to implement and maintain,” said Robert Bevis, Director of the Cyber Security Business Unit at Rkneal. “The essential security capabilities of the AlienVault USM platform easily integrate into Verve and provide another layer of threat detection as well as address our overall goal of streamlining compliance efforts.”

The Verve Security Center is a vendor agnostic security suite that consolidates antivirus, application whitelisting, change management, security information & event management (SIEM), patch management, vulnerability assessments, intrusion detection and backup management technologies into a unified management console. Each layer of Verve was carefully designed to detect, prevent and respond to ICS cyber attacks. At the same time, it automates internal and regulatory compliance reporting.

“Our approach was never to develop our own proprietary technologies,” said Adam Brewer, Director of Business Development. “Instead, we wanted to leverage best of breed products so our security experts could apply over 20 years of ICS experience. Each selected technology has been tuned specifically for control system environments.”

AlienVault’s USM platform provides a reliable, highly flexible and scalable deployment model to help service providers quickly deploy and monitor customer environments with robust asset discovery, vulnerability assessment, behavioral monitoring, threat detection and security intelligence.

“Our technology combined with the ICS expertise of Rkneal provides a fast and cost-effective way for teams with limited security budgets to address their NERC CIP compliance needs,” said Mike LaPeters, VP of North Amercan Channel Sales. “Rkneal can now leverage AlienVault’s proven security and threat intelligence platform to help their customers reduce the time to detect and respond to today’s advanced threats.”
